Quooker Ireland Ltd (hereinafter: "Quooker", "we" or "us"), a company registered in Ireland, whose registered office is at Apartment 54, Shannon Quays, Rooskey, Co. Leitrim, N41 W527  affiliate of Quooker International B.V.

This privacy policy

At Quooker, the privacy of our customers, contacts, distributors and suppliers is very important. Therefore, this document sets out how we will treat your Personal Data (hereinafter: "Privacy Policy"). This Privacy Policy applies to all our processing of your Personal Data.

Personal Data refers to any information with which a natural person can be directly or indirectly identified (hereinafter: "Personal Data"). This includes first and last names, (mobile) telephone numbers, (e-mail) addresses and date of birth. Personal data relates to a person, the data subject (hereinafter: "Data Subject"). The collection, storage, use, processing, consultation and forwarding of Personal Data is referred to as: "processing".

We process the Personal Data of our suppliers, customers, distributors, contacts and website visitors on the basis of the Personal Data you provide to us. This will often be the case when you enter into an agreement with us, or provide us with your details when you request us to contact you, for example via the contact form on our Website, or when you visit our website ("Website") www.quooker.ie

We can imagine that you would like to know why we need this information and what we use it for. This is explained below. How Quooker protects your data

Personal Data processed by us is protected by means of various security measures. We do our utmost to ensure that the processing of Personal Data is at all times subject to a level of security that, given the state of the art should be sufficient to prevent unauthorised access to, modification, disclosure and/or loss of Personal Data. This way, we ensure that people who have nothing to do with your personal data cannot access it either. When we (under certain circumstances) give your Personal Data to a third party, we require the third party to treat your Personal Data with the same care as we do.

Is it mandatory to provide Personal Data?

You always have the choice of whether or not you wish to provide us with your Personal Data. However, without your Personal Data we cannot perform any agreement. After all, we need certain Personal Data for the following purposes.

Registration

When you have purchased a Quooker, you can register it on our website. This allows you to register your Quooker for the standard two-year warranty to enable us to easily provide you with our service in the future. We store your personal data in our service database. In addition to the name and address details, we also store the serial number of your Quooker, whether you have a new or an existing kitchen, where you bought the Quooker and on what date. We need this information to enable our service department to help you quickly with any problems or questions. The data entered by you will quickly show them which reservoir and which tap are involved, so that they can offer you a suitable solution more quickly.

Quotation

If you wish to receive a quotation from Quooker and/or enter into an agreement with us, we will process your name and address details for the performance of the quotation or the agreement, such as the ordering, delivery and collection of Quookers.

Newsletters

When you register your Quooker, you can indicate whether you would like to receive our newsletters. If you give us permission to do so, we will send the newsletter to the e-mail address provided by you. This way, you will be kept up to date of new applications or products for you and your Quooker. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' button in the newsletter or by contacting our customer service.

Service

If you have any questions about your Quooker or if there is an unexpected problem that you need our help with, you can contact our service department via the service contact form. In addition to your name, address, telephone number and email address, we also process the serial number of your Quooker, the type of tap, the finish, the installation date and whether you have a warranty for the Quooker.

Contact

When you visit our website, you can leave a message, for example if you have a question or want to leave a review. We only use this Personal Data to contact you about your message.

Job application data, including gender, date of birth, work and education history, passport photo, and other Personal Data related to the vacancy concerned.

When you apply via Quooker's website, we need your personal data in order to process your application.

Financial information, including bank account number and possible arrears

When you have ordered a Quooker or a Quooker related product and/or service, we need to process your Personal Data to be able to invoice the payments due by you and/or send payment reminders. 

What is the legal basis for the processing?

To be able to process Personal Data, there must be a legal basis. Quooker processes personal data:

  • on the basis of explicit permission, for example if you give explicit permission to receive our newsletters;
  • in the context of entering into and performing the agreement, for example when you place an order with us, deliver products to us, or if you, in the capacity of for example a kitchen dealer or distributor, purchase and resell our products; or
  • on the basis of a legal obligation, for example when we are required to provide financial Personal Data to the Tax and Customs Administration.

Use of the Website by minors

If you are under the age of 16, you may only provide Personal Data to us through the Website if you have obtained permission to do so from your parent(s) or your legal representative(s) who have read this Privacy Policy.

Do we share your Personal Data with third parties?

We may engage third parties for the performance of our activities, in particular for the purposes referred to above. Examples of third parties that we could engage are our distribution partners, such as PostNL and DPD.

To the extent that these third parties process your Personal Data, they do so in the capacity of a processor and on the basis of a processing agreement, to ensure that your Personal Data is processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Only if we are legally obliged to do so, will we provide your Personal Data to regulators, tax authorities and/or investigative bodies. Your personal data will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area.

How long will you keep my Personal Data?

We aim to provide you with the best service possible. Therefore, we will not retain your Personal Data any longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes referred to above and/or to comply with our legal obligations. This means that, in principle we will retain your Personal Data as long as you are our customer and/or until financial obligations have been fulfilled, or for the duration of your job application (if applicable) and/or as much longer as is necessary in accordance with the (statutory) retention periods.

Review policy

We always want to learn more about our customers' experience, and reviews are a great way for us to get your feedback. Find out more about how we manage our reviews below, and the steps we take to combat fake reviews. 

  • It's important to us that reviews are posted by Quooker customers. Customers who have bought a system and signed up to our mailing list receive an email a few months after their purchase, asking them to leave a review via Google, Trustpilot or Feedback Company. 
  • No reviews are posted by Quooker, and customers are not paid to leave a review. 
  • Quooker does not remove reviews, even if they are negative.
  • Reviews are constantly monitored and responded to by our team. 

Is your Personal Data incorrect, would you like to inspect it or do you have any other questions?

Quooker considers it important that your Personal Data is correct and up-to-date. Under the privacy legislation, you have a number of rights:

-       the right to inspect the Personal Data we have from and/or about you;

-       the right to change the Personal Data we have from and/or about you;

-       in certain cases provided for by law, such as when you believe that the processing is no longer necessary or (otherwise) unlawful, you have the right to have the Personal Data that we have from and/or about you deleted;

-       under certain circumstances, you have the right to limit the processing of the Personal Data that we have from and/or about you;

-       the right to transfer your data (but this is only possible if we process the Personal Data on the basis of your consent).

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, such as changing your Personal Data because it is incorrect, please contact our customer service or contact us via the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy. Here, you can also ask any other questions you may have. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and this will always be within four weeks.

However, we do want to make sure that it is you when you ask us to change, access or delete your Personal Data. To verify this, we will ask you to send us a copy of your identity document. Please make sure that you blacken your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the ID card), document number and your citizen service number on this copy. We do not need this information. We will remove this copy immediately after we have answered your request.

Do you not agree with the way we handle your Personal Data? We will gladly solve this together with you. Please contact our customer service in order to do so. You also have the option of submitting a complaint to the Data Protection Authority in your own country, or to the Dutch Data Protection Authority as the leading regulator.

Marketing

We would like to show you advertisements that are relevant to you, and we do this together with other parties. To this end, we collect information about your browsing, searching and clicking behaviour on previous visits to our websites and the websites of third parties. For this purpose, cookies are placed on our website by us and by third parties. In order to place them, we will ask you for permission to do so on your first visit to our website. To ensure that our website works properly for you, we collect your IP address, information about your Internet browser, any language settings and information about the operating system settings of the device you are using to visit us.

Service comes first for us. We want to make sure that our website is as easy to use as possible and that you will quickly find the information you are looking for. That is why we collect information about your search and click behaviour on our website. We use this data so that we can determine an average customer pattern and use it to improve our website, and therefore we do not focus on individual customer behaviour. For example, we ensure that the most frequently visited pages are the easiest to access.

Of course, we will not retain this information forever, as cookies are subject to a limited retention period and this varies per type of cookie. You can also find information about the retention periods in our cookie policy.
